About Guru Nanak Dev University

Established on November 24, 1969, Guru Nanak Dev University was founded to mark the quincentenary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the founder of Sikhism. Since its inception, the University has grown into one of North India’s most respected institutions for higher education.

The Golden Jubilee Centre for Entrepreneurship and Innovation supports startups, AI workshops, robotics training, intellectual property awareness, and women-led enterprises. Over 40 startups have been mentored through this initiative.

Open and Online Learning

To make education accessible beyond social and geographical barriers, GNDU established the Directorate of Open and Distance Learning (ODL). Approved by the Distance Education Bureau, UGC, the Directorate offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs in distance mode.

Through the Directorate of Online Studies, the University provides:
